In Canada, opened the first memorial to the victims of the Holocaust

The monument, whose creation took about 10 years and costing $ 7.2 million, is set opposite the Military Museum in the Canadian capital of Ottawa.
The opening of the memorial took place on Wednesday, September 27, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau became an honored guest of the ceremony. Until then, Canada was the only state of the anti-Hitler coalition in which there was no national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust.
Also this week it became known that the Government of Canada plans to apologize for refusing to accept 900 German Jews who arrived to its shores at St. Louis in 1939. The ship was forced to return to Germany and about a quarter of its passengers were killed.
