The head of the government of the Palestinian Autonomy in Judea and Samaria, Rami Hamdallah, will visit Gaza on October 2.
PA authorities in Judea and Samaria announced that Hamdallah's visit is aimed at achieving reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas. The visit was made possible through negotiations between the warring Palestinian groups in Gaza.
The key was the agreement of Hamas to dissolve the "administrative council", in fact the governor of Gaza, and the statement of readiness to transfer the sector management to the government of national unity. Similar attempts at reconciliation have been made in the past, but this time Egypt, which is the mediator in the negotiations, is optimistic.
