Chess: World Cup final in Tbilisi

Suitable for the finish of the World Cup competition in chess. The finalists of the tournament were determined.

In the semi-final, Armenian Levon Aronian defeated the Frenchman Maxim Vachier-Lagrave at the tie-break of the semifinal match of the World Cup in Tbilisi (Georgia). The contestants exchanged victories in fast chess and completed both games with a limit of 10 minutes.

The fate of the ticket to the final was determined in the so-called Armageddon, where Aronian played white and had 5 minutes for the game, while his opponent had 4 minutes. If Levon could not win, then the victory in the confrontation would go to Vashie-Lagrava.

For the title, the 35-year-old Aronian will compete with the 25-year-old Chinese Dean Lizhen. Both chess players won the right to play at the tournament of applicants.

Levon Grigorievich Aronyan (born at the birth of Lev Aronov) was born on October 6, 1982 in Yerevan, in the family of the Armenian Seda and Jew Grigory Leontievich Aronov. I learned to play chess at the age of five with my older sister Lily.

His Chinese rival has been playing chess since 4 years.
