Israel will put a picture of "Foxtrot" for the American Oscar award in the nomination "Best film in a foreign language".
The tape of Shmuel Maoz became the triumphant of the award "Ofir" - the Israeli analogue of "Oscar". She won eight statuettes, including as the best film of the year.
Earlier, the painting was awarded the "Silver Lion" at the Venice Film Festival.
"Foxtrot" is an original and paradoxical tragicomedy about parents mourning the deceased soldier son.
Culture Minister Miri Regev was absent at the ceremony of handing Ophir because of a conflict with the Israeli Academy of Film and Television. She did not see the tape, but claims that the film "defames" the army of Israel.
