Germany adopted the international definition of anti-Semitism

The government of Germany today officially adopted the definition of anti-Semitism, developed by the International Organization for Cooperation in the Perpetuation and Study of the Holocaust (IHRA).
The definition approved by the government of the Federal Republic of Germany reads: "Anti-Semitism is a certain perception of the Jews, which can be expressed in hatred towards the Jews. Anti-Semitism in a word or deed is directed against individuals of Jewish or non-Jewish origin and / or their property, as well as against Jewish community organizations or religious objects. " This definition was adopted by 31 IHRA member states in May 2016 and has already been approved by Israel, Great Britain, Austria and Romania.
The Minister of the Interior of the Federal Republic of Germany Thomas de Mezier said that the fight against anti-Semitism is one of the fundamental state ideas in Germany. "We Germans are especially vigilant when anti-Semitism threatens to spread in our country. We are motivated by a story that in the most horrifying way has forever led us to realize what cruelties anti-Semitism can lead to, "he said in Berlin after a cabinet meeting. He noted that the goal of adopting an international definition of anti-Semitism is the early recognition of and the fight against various manifestations of anti-Semitism. The new definition will be applied particularly consistently in educational institutions in Germany, as well as in the field of justice and executive power
