Rabbi The Wailing Walls Shmuel Rabinovich and her assistants cleared her of the notes that had accumulated over the past months.
Old notes were cleaned from the gaps between the stones with wooden sticks to make room for new ones.
The ritual of cleansing the Wailing Wall takes place twice a year, before the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah and before Pesah. Notes are bagged and buried on the Mount of Olives.
