Today at dawn, on the eve of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), Minister Israel Katz arrived to read prayers for forgiveness ("slihot") and for the pre-holiday prayer to the Cave of the Patriarchs (Mearat Ha-Machpela) in Hebron.
"Here I feel the unity with my roots and the Jewish history, which is already 3,700 years old," writes Minister Katz on his Facebook page and continues:
"I read a prayer for our people, for our country - Eretz Israel, and for our family. I wish you all a peaceful year, happiness, health and good luck. Shana goods! ".
As the "Cursor" wrote, the Minister of Transport and Intelligence Israel Katz on July 7 proposed to react to the anti-Israel resolution of UNESCO concerning Hebron not only with political declarations.
Minister Yisrael Katz, in particular, stated:
"Even a thousand UNESCO resolutions, no matter how hypocritical and outrageous they are, will not be able to challenge the historical rights of the Jewish people to Eretz-Israel.
These decisions will not be able to annul the inextricable link between the Jewish people and our shrine - the burial place of the Forefathers and Premaaters in the Cave of the Patriarchs (Mearat ha-Machpela) in Hebron. Hebron is ours forever.
I appealed to Prime Minister Netanyahu with the invitation, at the earliest opportunity, to organize a visit to the Cave of the Patriarchs, as well as to hold a special government meeting in the Jewish Quarter of Hebron.
So we will demonstrate our clear position on this issue - in fact, not in words. "
