Two earthquakes of magnitude 5.6 and 5.9 occurred on September 18 near the Pacific coast of the Mexican state of Oaxaca and near the coast of Chile, respectively.

This is reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS).

One of the epicenter of the tremors was located 115 kilometers south of the city of San Francisco del Mar. The other is 93.8 kilometers south-west of the village of Ilyapel.

In both cases, information about possible victims and destruction was not received.
