IDF announces war on smoking

The command of the IDF forces to the utmost to eradicate the predilection for smoking among servicemen.
To this end, it was decided to implement the recommendations put forward by the Medical Service of the IDF. The reason for this step lies in the results of recent studies showing that the prevalence of smoking among soldiers at the end of the service has grown by 40% over the past few years.
According to the recently approved plan, the command will prohibit the sale of cigarettes at 56 military bases. The ban on smoking in public places will be imposed on all IDF bases without any exception (with simultaneous reduction of the allocated "smoking zones") with the application of strict disciplinary measures to the deceived - up to the cancellation of the holidays.
Commanders will be strictly prohibited from smoking nearby and, especially, together with their subordinates, as well as in field vehicles used for training at landfills and in combat operations; The same prohibition applies to personal cars used in the army.

In addition, IDFs are introducing programs to prevent smoking: each soldier (without fail!) Will be assisted in participating in anti-smoking programs.
Finally, tobacco companies will be prohibited from "sponsoring" the IDF units, which is now expressed in the donations of cigarettes to soldiers within the "gifts" program for the army.
The chief of the general staff, Lieutenant General Gadi Eysencot, approved the above steps aimed at combating smoking, which will take effect in early November.
