RJC joins efforts with the Israeli charity center "Shalva"

On September 14, a memorandum on partnership between the Russian Jewish Congress and the Israeli Center for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and their integration "Shalva" was signed at the Metropol Hotel in Moscow.
The document was signed by RJC President Yuri Kanner and founder and president of the Shalva Center Kalman Samuels. The agreement provides for the creation of a joint educational program that will train specialists in working with parents whose children need special care. This means that about 600 children with special needs, managed by the RJC in seven cities of Russia, will receive this year even more qualified support and care.
The signing of the memorandum took place before the start of the reception in the "Metropol", timed to the festival "Days of Jerusalem in Moscow". The reception was organized by Mikhail Fridman, a member of the Bureau of the Presidium of the RJC, the Jerusalem Foundation and the Shalva Center, whose activities were devoted to the charitable part of the evening. The event was organized by the Russian Jewish Congress and the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia. Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat, Yuri Kanner, President of FEOR Alexander Boroda, Moscow Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, Israeli judoist, bronze medalist of the Olympic Games of 2016 Ori Sasson spoke at the evening.
The discussion panel with the participation of a member of the Bureau of the RJEC Presidium Mikhail Fridman and the Mayor of Nir Barkat, dedicated to the present and future of Jerusalem, and the role of the Jewish Diaspora was bright and informative.
The evening brought together hundreds of guests, among whom were many well-known representatives of business, science and art, diplomats, rabbis - all those for whom charity is not an empty phrase.
"Shalva" is a charitable center known in Israel and around the world thanks to unique programs to help "special" children and their families. The most modern and yet delicate methods of work of the center radically change the idea of ​​the place of a person with disabilities in our world. Since 2015, the Russian Jewish Congress has successfully implemented a program for the integration of special children in 18 regions of Russia. In the near future, the partner of this program will be the center "Shalva", which has developed unique methods and approaches over the years. This cooperation will allow to set and solve the most ambitious tasks in the interests of Russian children. "Days of Jerusalem in Moscow" - a festival of culture, art, music and cooking, which will be held in Moscow on September 16-17.
