

First Vice President of Azerbaijan Republic Mehriban Aliyeva met with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Manabu Hori on September 15.
First vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva welcomed the Japanese delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Manabu Horin, and said that she is very gladfull about their participation in the signing of a new agreement on the development of Azeri, Chirag and Gunashli fields in Baku on 14 September. Noting that the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Japan was celebrated this year, Mehriban Aliyeva said that relations between the two countries are based on friendship, mutual interests and many areas. She noted that over the years, good experience has been accumulated in the oil industry and there is great potential for cooperation in the non-oil sector.
Manabu Hori expressed his satisfaction with Baku's participation in the signing ceremony of the amended and revised Agreement on the joint development of the Azeri, Chiraq, and deepwater part of the Gunashli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea and the oil production sharing division, and noted that the ceremony was a success.
