Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Let me congratulate you on behalf of the Government of Georgia on the great progress achieved in the effective development of the Azeri and Chirag fields as well as the deep part of the Gunashli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. I believe that the joint development and extension of the Production Sharing Agreement is of historic importance and shows that Azerbaijan is continuing to justify itself as a global energy supplier.

As a reliable transit country and recognizing Azerbaijan as a strategic partner, Georgia welcomes this very important event and hopes that our cooperation will further expand and strengthen. We also hope that implementation of joint energy projects will expand on the basis of development of oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan.
