The Egyptian Ministry of Education is conducting an important investigation: how did the image of the Israeli flag penetrate the school history books?
Noticing this historian turned to the Ministry of the Interior with a demand to prohibit the dissemination of the seditious textbook.
In response to the request, the Ministry of Defense asked the publisher to suspend the release of the unreliable textbook.
The culprit for the scandal was a textbook for the 8th grade entitled "Our Arab Homeland, Geographic Phenomena and Islamic Culture", on one of the pages of which is placed the Israeli flag occupying the territory of the Jewish state itself, as well as Judea and Samaria. The Palestinian flag on the map is not at all depicted.
The publishing house explained that the flag of Israel "crept into the book on an unintentional mistake, which will not happen again during the reissue."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs started an emergency investigation of the incident and promised to take strict measures against the publishing house if it turns out that it printed an image of the Israeli flag without the sanction of the Ministry of Defense. Meanwhile, an order has been issued to remove the textbook from schools and to prohibit its distribution.
