The Israeli Post jointly with the Philatelic Service of Israel issued on September 11 a stamp with the image of Shimon Peres.
Thus it was decided to pay tribute to the memory of the ninth President of Israel on the first anniversary of his death.
On a new brand, the cost of 2.4 shekels of Peres was depicted on the background of the library - in recognition of his love for books. In addition, the brand will indicate the years of his life, as well as the words "Shimon Peres" and "Israel" in three languages - Hebrew, Arabic and English. The design of the brand was developed by Limor Peretz-Samia.
Mark was presented at a ceremony at the Peace and Innovation Center of Peres, in which the Minister of Communications Ayub Kara and the chairman of the Peres Center, the youngest son of the late president, Nehemiah Perez took part.
As Kara said, it would be appropriate to print the brand in memory of Shimon Peres, since in 1970 he became Israel's first minister of communications, and Nehamiya Perez called the decision "very touching and appropriate tribute" in the light of his father's long and faithful service to the state.
