

A commemorative meeting dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow - the 76th anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Leningrad, took place on September 7 at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv.
Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Israel Alexander Kryukov, assistant military attaché at the Russian Embassy Major Alexander Afanasyev, deputy head of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel Denis Parkhomchuk, head of the Association of Friendship and Cooperation of Citizens of Israel and the President of the Russian Embassy in Israel, addressed the Leningrad blockade workers who came from different cities of the country. Russia (ADIR) and the Commonwealth of Israelis from Leningrad and St. Petersburg Zeev Yitzhar, chairman of the Union of Leningrad blockade in Israel Milia Larina.
The ceremony of lighting the funeral candles was held at the meeting, the participants paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Leningrad blockade, a minute of silence, fragments of films about the blockaded Leningrad were shown, and their favorite songs about the hero city were heard.
Memoirs were shared by memoirs, many of whom were then children. The speakers spoke about the fate of the dead and dead during the war and the blockade of relatives, about the solidarity of people of different nationalities who lived in the besieged city, their solidarity in the fight against Nazism and the overall contribution to the Victory.
