On September 10, the head of the Shin Bet, Nadav Argman, at a government meeting said that since early 2017, the General Security Service has been able to prevent about 200 terrorist attacks.
In July-August, nearly 70 attempts were made to prevent terrorist attacks, including suicide bombings, attempted kidnapping of Israelis and attempted terrorist attacks using firearms.
According to Argman, the increase in the number of planned terrorist acts was especially noticeable immediately after the events of July 14 on the Temple Mount - three times more than in June. This is due to increased motivation to commit terrorist attacks, involving a large number of human casualties, which was fueled in various social networks.
Argman also noted that after the expulsion of prominent Hamas from Qatar to Beirut, Hamas creates its military outposts in southern Lebanon with the support of Iran. Moreover, according to the head of the Shin Bet, Hamas is ready for a new military confrontation with Israel.
