After a nine-month break, Israel's ambassador to Egypt David Govrin returned to his duties.
All the staff of the embassy was for unknown reasons returned to Israel in November last year. At the end of August, the diplomats returned to Cairo, and yesterday the embassy resumed its work. In August, Israeli media reported that Israel and Egypt agreed on new security measures that allowed the embassy to resume its work.
Govrin was appointed ambassador to Egypt in February last year. He replaced on this post Chaim Koren, who had resigned his powers ahead of schedule. Govrin is a hereditary diplomat who holds a doctorate in the history of the Middle East, prior to this appointment h
