IDF provides humanitarian aid to Syrians

On 9 September, rebels in Syria, fighting against the Assad regime, published a video showing how an Israeli truck brings products and essentials to the inhabitants of the Syrian part of the Golan Heights.

This is done within the framework of the project "Good Neighborly Relations", which aims to provide humanitarian assistance to Syrians suffering from civil war in their country. Thousands of tons of products and essentials have already been shipped to the Syrian side.

As part of this project, Israel provides assistance to wounded Syrians in Israeli hospitals.

In the immediate vicinity of the Israeli-Syrian border on the Golan Heights, there are 80 villages inhabited by almost 200 thousand Syrians. Humanitarian aid is carried out under the control of the command of the northern military district, the IDF establishes a link with the heads of the villages, doctors and civilians by the administration on the other side of the border.

In July this year, humanitarian assistance included 250 tons of products, half a million liters of gasoline, 12 tons of materna, 55 tons of clothes and 12 tons of footwear. The polyclinic that was destroyed during the fighting of the rebels with regular Syrian troops was restored and medical equipment, also destroyed during the fighting, was donated to the maternity hospital in Cuneitra.
