Assad called Erdogan a political beggar

Syrian President Bashar Assad said he no longer regards Turkey as a partner.

He said this during a meeting with employees of the country's Foreign Ministry, reports Lenta.ru on August 20, referring to the SANA agency.

Assad recalled that Syria was ready to discuss all proposals aimed at ending the war, although I knew in advance that most of them were not nominated for good intentions.

Talking about the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he noted that after exposing the support of terrorists by his regime, the head of state plays the role of political beggar. "Therefore, Syria does not trust him, does not consider the Turkish side either a partner or a guarantor," the Syrian leader said.

He stressed that with countries that only verbally declare support for the settlement of the Syrian crisis, there will be no cooperation either in the field of security or in the opening of embassies until they sever their ties with terrorism. "We will not allow our enemies and opponents to achieve through politics what they have not been able to achieve with the help of terrorism," Assad said.
