The Tel-Aviv municipality, located on Rabin Square, was highlighted on Thursday evening by the colors of the Spanish flag in solidarity with the inhabitants of Barcelona.
At least 13 people died as a result of the terrorist attack that occurred on Thursday in the capital of Catalonia.
Hoakim Forn of the Interior Ministry of the Catalan government told a news conference that more than 100 people were injured during the terrorist attack when a cargo van knocked pedestrians in the center of Barcelona.
Responsibility for the attack was assumed by the Islamic state grouping (banned in Russia).
"The persons who committed the attack in Barcelona are soldiers of the Islamic state and are conducting an operation in response to calls for an attack on the states that are members of the coalition," the news agency Amaq reported referring to the United States-led coalition against the Sunni battle group. In recent months, the facade of the municipality has also been highlighted by the flags of the United Kingdom and Egypt in solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attacks.
