Since August 20 - additional services for drivers

At the first stage, the service will be available in 14 post offices: in Jerusalem, Haifa, Tiberias, Afula, Kiryat Shmona, Sakhnin, Beer Sheva, Ashdod, Holon, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Netanya. In early September 2017, the innovation will spread to all postal branches of the country.

Recall that today in 700 post offices in Israel (Doar Yisrael) you can already get a new driver's license. This service was introduced in May 2017.

The innovation is relevant for those drivers whose validity period for a vehicle license (technical passport) or driver's license has expired.

The service also concerns new documents sent to the postal address, but not reached the addressee, as well as for those whose document was lost, stolen or damaged. If necessary, at the post office it is possible to obtain a temporary driver's license (permanent driver's license, ie a plastic card, will later arrive at the address of the driver registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs).

For registration of documents it is necessary to provide driver's identification card.

Note that citizens whose driver's license or license for a vehicle is "frozen" (the Office of Court Bailiffs, the court, etc.) will not be able to use the new service. Also at the post office there will be no possibility to make changes to the driver's personal data or technical characteristics of the vehicle in the document.

For several months, tens of thousands of drivers took advantage of the new service. The Ministry of Transport expects a significant increase in the number of applications to post offices in order to use the additional service.

For the convenience of drivers, you can pre-order a queue for visiting the post office by calling 171 (the Israeli Postal Service), through the Doar Israel website or the smartphone application of the same name.

Speaking about the expansion of the service, the Minister of Transport and Intelligence Israel Katz said: "Providing the possibility of obtaining a driver's license and license for a vehicle, as well as payment for their registration at the post office, near the house or with a job, will significantly improve the level of service for drivers. This will save them time and reduce queues in the offices of the Motor Vehicle Registration Department. "

It should be noted that the new service is part of the program of the Ministry of Transport for expanding the range of services for citizens who do not have the opportunity to come to the offices of the Motor Vehicle Registration Department and prefer to save time.

Within the limits of this program for drivers, already for several years, it is possible to order a driver's license and vehicle registration certificate and payment for these services also by means of the Help Center of the Motor Vehicle Registration Department at tel. 5678.

The service is available through the website of the Ministry of Transport mot.gov.il, and in computerized machines ("ryceumat"). These devices are located in more than 70 branches of the Super-Farm network throughout the country (this requires a credit card for the owner of a driver's license or motor vehicle).
