The Palestinian singer was given 5 years for criticizing Hamas

The military tribunal of Hamas sentenced the Palestinian actor to five years in prison for singing songs criticizing the grouping and leadership of the Gaza Strip.
Singer Adel al-Mashvahi is a resident of the Gaza Strip. There he is known for his anti-government songs and stand-up performances, in which he ridicules both the PA headed by Mahmoud Abbas, and the leadership of Hamas. The names of his songs speak for themselves: "A rocket against Hamas and its leaders," "May Allah take you, Hamas." It is curious that the man himself was a member of the group in the past, but left the ranks three years ago.

At the same time, al-Mashvahi is officially listed among the Palestinian police. Recently, he left Gaza and was treated in Egypt, where he decided not to return to the enclave. In this regard, the military court handed him a verdict in absentia - dismissal from the police and five years in prison. At the time of the verdict, his brother and other family members were present in the courtroom.

In an interview with the Palestinian media, al-Mashvahi admitted that he was not surprised by the verdict. According to him, the persecution against him is of a political nature and does not differ from the other 13 verdicts that were passed to him for his speeches. However, despite this, he does not intend to stop.
