President of Israel Reuven Rivlin rejected the request of the former head of the Jewish state Moshe Katsav to remove from him the restrictions imposed in the framework of early release.
Rivlin felt that the decision of the UDO commission under the Directorate of Prisons was quite balanced and in the situation with Katsav there are no serious grounds for changing it.
Let us remind that ex-President of Israel Moshe Katsav was released early from prison on December 21, 2016. For a seven-year prison term, he was sentenced in 2011 for raping an employee of his office. In the framework of the UDO, the ex-president of Israel is obliged not to leave his house at night - from 22:00 to 06:00, regularly to report to the police, coordinate with the police the places of his stay, undergo psychological rehabilitation procedures. He is also prohibited from traveling outside the country. These conditions Moshe Katsav must comply with until the expiration of the full term of his seven-year sentence, i.e. Until December 2018.
