Israeli firefighters returned after extinguishing forest fires in Macedonia

On the morning of Friday, August 11, a group of Israeli specialists who took part in extinguishing forest fires in Macedonia returned to Israel. The delegation consisted of 22 people: police officers, firemen, pilots of the company "Him-Nir" and equipment of the company "Elbit".
According to the press service of the Israeli police, in total, specialized Israeli fire planes carried out 42 sorties in Macedonia to extinguish forest fires, flying about 40 hours in the air during such flights and dropping about 120,000 liters of materials to extinguish the flames. In many cases, such operations were conducted in close proximity to populated areas. The firemen had to operate in difficult weather conditions. The air temperature in these days in Macedonia was about 40 degrees Celsius.
