Steeper Putin only president of Rwanda

Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, received 98.6% of the vote in the presidential elections and was re-elected for a new term.

About it informs Reuters.

"The winner was Paul Kagame, who collected 98.63% [of the vote]," said Calisa Mbanda, head of the country's National Electoral Commission.

Thus, Kagame will head the country for another seven years.

As noted by the Associated Press, the constitutional reform of 2015 also made it possible for Kagame to remain in office until 2034.

The agency adds that the people of Rwanda thank the head of state for economic growth, but human rights activists believe that the Kagame government "uses all means" to make the opposition in the country keep quiet. The authorities in Rwanda reject the charges.

It should be noted that Vladimir Putin has ruled Russia for 17 years, including 13 as president.
